Klute, Nymfo, Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Dom & Roland, Vicious Circle, Presha.

MCs: Lowqui, Ryme Tyme , Justyce

We Fear Silence will once again bash heads with Tom 'Klute' Wither's Commercial Suicide label on Saturday June 2nd. After a truly momentous endeavour with A Bunch Of Cuts here back in 2011, the C.S. crew were well overdue a return to Cable.

Klute's Commercial Suicide imprint has been releasing forward-looking Drum & Bass since it's birth in 2001. The London based label was started due to Klute's thirst to release his own unsigned material.
Since then the label has surpassed the half century mark with releases from the likes of Amit, Break, Gridlok, Bulletproof, Dub Phizix, Concord Dawn & Calibre and has proved itself to be a prolific force in the world of D&B.

And so the the music… Boss man Klute will lead the affray with his Techno influenced breed of Drum & Bass which draws on the flavours of house, dub and progressive. Meanwhile C.S. buddy Nymfo will also celebrate the release of his latest album, 'Characters' on said imprint, with one of his trademark tough-edged performances. Calibre, who boasts releases on Metalheadz and Signature Records, as well as the aforementioned, will bring his bag of tricks to the table, as will Manc spinner Marcus Intalex who'll show off his genre spanning beats and bass sound. Offering up a solid foundation for the rave is D&B vet Dom & Roland who'll take things a little darker, 4 man collective Vicious Circle with their techy future funk sound and NZ man Presha who'll treat us to a lesson in sub-sonic grooves.10:00pm ~ 6:00am

10:00pm ~ 6:00am

£9 Early Bird, £11 Advance, £13 OTD, £18 VIP Attic

This forum is a little too dead? why is this,. i can see a post i did on this page from 2 years ago?

Glad to see the station is still alive though, however i have not listen too it in a while.

The topic title is pretty simple, where is dark drum and bass now in terms of, whoes listening and whats new?

Im not too up to date at the moment, but this does not mean im not listening. I seem to be stuck in a weekly cycle of listening to almost the same tracks? might be to to with my weight lifting routine.

Some older tracks by amit, and some tech, photek and other oldies keep being played.

I did hear somthing new today though on youtube, Katharsys ? never heard of them before.. aparently this is dark step, but i still see it as dnb.

Also some fairly new track from current value.

It does seem though in recent years that some of the big dark names are churning out dubstep. Now i dont have much against dub step as i like a few tracks that SPL did... but some of the dub tracks that tech itch, photek, dom n roland and others have not really hit bar for me.

And the bar is high, very high, only because these great artists have set it so high, dark high.

For me though good tracks arnt always about heavy bass, trhashing drums and screaming (although it fucking helps) its about mood, atmosphere and where will this track take my mind too... dark is a state of mind and it takes a combination of sounds to achive this.

So if your reading this im not drunk yet or have taken any drugs, this post will probably get a reply in the year 2013 when the world has ended, joke.

Get your bass face ready because Counterstrike's mighty "Drone" has spawned
4 (yes, four) firing remixes!

French beat-surgeon Kenei kicks off hostilities with a deep and epic intro
that builds the pressure before infecting your speakers with the sickest of
basslines...a wicked mix of rough and smooth!

Next up are Malsum and Zardonic, who unite to cause an absolute ruckus on
their remix. Gnarly bass tones, heavy beats and a wall of low end pressure
smash the dancefloor to pieces.

On a different tip, Russian combo Gancher & Ruin crank out one for the
hardcore heads…industrial-strength kicks, thunderous subs and brain-frying
synths will leave you begging for mercy.

Last but not least, Italian filth-merchants Hallucinator hammer the final
nail in the coffin with a prime example of their trademark head-banging,
earth-shaking sound…moshpit material!

So, check them out and brock out!

Clips on Soundcloud

Available on digital shops from April 23rd 2012.

Cheers

After one of the most heavyweight parties at Cable back in February that saw in 2012 in typical Shogun style, we return once more for the next installment of bass-heavy breakbeat pressure. Saturday 21st April @ Cable marks the spot.

Standard procedure as label lynchpin and BBC Radio 1’s latest roster addition Friction heads up the cast to deliver his 2 hour essential guide to all things Shogun and beyond. Expect dubplate specials, double-dropping basslines and untold classic sounds from deep in the D&B history vaults. Then it’s a very welcome Cable debut from possibly the most successful drum & bass act to ever have emerged from the scene, Pendulum. Be prepared as they will be delving deep into some bassline killers for what promises to be a very special set indeed. Icicle, Alix Perez and Rockwell will all be showing off their latest and greatest Shogun sounds whilst BBC 1xta’s King Of D&B Bailey will also be making his debut at Shogun Cable, and you know when Bailey’s about expect some of the gnarliest jungle riddims around; Bailey knows his beats! With Bringa on warm up duties and SP, Verse, Mantmast and LX One completing the Room 1 line-up the night’s looking very big indeed.

Room 2 sees Mad Decent fave and all-round good girl Kito dropping some nu-bass sounds with Alix Perez on alt set duties and trust El Matador aka IC3 making a welcome return.

Tickets £11 Early Bird, £13 1st release, £14 2nd release adv + bf, £15 OTD | Photo ID required at all times

Doors 9pm - 6pm
